SAP Lumira / SAP Design Studio Data Gateway Webcast

I attended this APOS webcast today.  It is always interesting to consider options with your tools and certainly some options were shown today.

 

Today’s APOS webcast started with an attendee poll:

Desktop is targeted trusted tactical data sources

 

Server edition is for data discovery and exploration – Lumira & Design Studio includes trusted enterprise data sources

Lumira developer can connect to a block of data in Web Intelligence and use that as a data source to use Lumira

 

Authentication is happening when connecting to BI Platform, connect to instance of Web Intelligence report

Figure 10 shows the data gateway for Lumira Edition is for trusted data sources; any database

 

Database Gateway is the middleware

Data restriction for universe 5K rows or 50K cells is capped; the APOS Gateway offers an unlimited mode

 

It offers multi-dimensional mode and Unv & UNX connectivity

Figure 12 shows the release dates; Server editions are coming in quite near term; no exact date –next few weeks

 

I asked if there was a trial available, and the answer was yes

 

Towards the end of the webcast, the presenters encouraged everyone to attend the ASUG SAP Analytics BusinessObjects Conference and SAP TechEd Las Vegas.
